【Hans Schwarz】HASEGAWA Akira
Akira Hasegawa graduated from the Kunitachi College of Music. His debut in opera was in the 1996 Tokyo Nikikai Opera Foundation production of Die Walküre as Hunding. His performances with the Tokyo Nikikai Opera Foundation include Don Giovanni (directed by Amon Miyamoto) as Il Commendatore, Die Zauberflöte (directed by Akio Jissoji) as Sarastro, Der fliegende Holländer as Daland. Performances with the New National Theatre, Tokyo include the whole Der Ring des Nibelungen cycle (2001 ~ 2004), Parsifal as Titurel, Der fliegende Holländer as Daland and the New National Theatre, Tokyo’s Educational Programme for High School Students production of Die Zauberflöte as Sarastro. Recent performances include the Tokyo Nikikai Opera Foundation production of Le Nozze di Figaro as Bartolo, the NHK Symphony Orchestra production of Carmen (conducted by Charles Dutoit) as Zuniga. His numerous performances as a soloist in concerts such as Beethoven’s Sinfonie Nr. 9 and Christian music, have been highly praised. He is a member of the Tokyo Nikikai Opera Foundation.
