【Un mandarino】TOYOSHIMA Yuichi
Yuichi Toyoshima was born in Hokkaido. He graduated from the Musashino Academia Musicae and its graduate school. He studied in Italy in ’93 as a recipient of the Hokkaido International Music Exchange Society scholarship, from ’99 to ’01 as recipient of the 8th Ezoe Memorial Foundation Opera scholarship and in ’03 through the Agency for Cultural Affairs Artist Overseas Training program. He has won numerous awards including the 1st prize in the 5th HIMES Competition. His debut in Italy was in ’98 in Milan singing the title role of “Rigoletto”. He performed in “La Traviata”, “Madama Butterfly”. His debut with the Fujiwara Opera was in ’99 as Schaunard in “La Bohéme”. His performances as Bonzo in “Madama Butterfly”, Capellio in “I Capuleti e i Montecchi” have been highly acclaimed. He has appeared in numerous productions of the Japan Opera Association such as “Tale of a Castle Keep”, “A Portrait of Shunkin”, “Kesa and Morito”, “Yosakoi Song” among others. He received the Ningenryoku Taisho Award from the Junior Chamber International Japan. He is a member of the Fujiwara Opera.
